Overview

To support our retail partners and increase B2B sales of power accessories, I led the creation of a training video series aimed at helping retail sales associates identify customer needs, overcome objections, and confidently position our products. The goal was to empower associates with the tools and language they needed to recommend the right accessory for the right customer scenario.

Problem

  • Sales Associates Lacked Product Knowledge: Many associates had limited understanding of our full accessory lineup.

  • Missed Upsell Opportunities: Associates often defaulted to low-cost or familiar items, missing chances to upsell based on customer needs.

  • Customer Objections Weren’t Addressed: Common concerns (e.g., “Isn’t this the same as X brand?” or “Why is this one more expensive?”) led to lost sales.

  • Inconsistent Messaging Across Retailers: Without a standardized approach, product benefits weren’t being communicated effectively.

Process

1. Defined Training Goals
  • Support retail teams in identifying customer personas and recommending the right power accessories

  • Create engaging, animated content that’s quick to absorb and easy to revisit

  • Help associates confidently handle customer objections and highlight product benefits

  • Drive sales by building product confidence at the point of purchase

2. Concept & Storyboarding
  • Collaborated with stakeholders to define the tone and structure of each video

  • Storyboarded the visual design of the series

3. Visual Development & Animation
  • Translated provided scripts into compelling animated narratives

  • Created all motion graphics and visuals using Alphacomm’s branded style

  • Animated scenarios and product highlights

4. Production & Editing
  • Edited all animated footage into concise training videos

  • Refined timing, transitions, and pacing for a polished final product

5. Objection-Handling Scenarios
  • Worked closely with the copy team to visually support objection/response moments

  • Ensured that product benefits were clearly illustrated and easy to retain

Impact

Videos were distributed to retail partners via our learning management platform and became part of product onboarding.
