Alphacomm Mural

Overview

Following the Alphacomm brand refresh, I was tasked with extending the new identity into the physical office environment through a breakroom mural. I designed a custom illustration and hand-drawn typography installation that brought the refreshed visual language off the screen and onto the wall, giving the space a personality that felt consistent with the rest of the brand.

Problem

The breakroom didn't reflect the company the brand refresh was working to define. It was a high-traffic space seen daily by every employee, with nothing on the walls to communicate who Alphacomm was or what made it worth showing up for. The mural needed to fill that gap in a way that felt genuine, not just decorative.

Process

I started by gathering input from the internal team to understand what the space should feel like and what values it should express. From there I collaborated with our copywriter, who developed a set of phrases that captured the new brand's tone and energy. Those phrases became the backbone of the composition, with illustration and hand-drawn typography built around them.

I developed concept sketches that balanced playful visuals with intentional whitespace, making sure the mural felt energizing without becoming cluttered. Once the design was finalized, I prepared the artwork for large-format output and the mural was produced as a vinyl wrap and installed in the breakroom.

Solution

The finished mural brings the Alphacomm brand into the one space in the office where the brand had never lived before. The hand-drawn typography and illustration style connect directly to the visual language established in the brand refresh, giving the space a personality that feels consistent with every other brand touchpoint while being entirely its own thing.
